Community Service - At the Heart of Alpha Phi Omega

At APO, our primary focus is service to our community, campus, country, and chapter. In keeping with this ideal, we are involved in a variety of service projects led by dedicated Beta Rho brothers. Service projects vary by week and are determined at each chapter meeting, however some are regularly scheduled. Learn more about some of these ongoing projects below.

Tri Cycle Farms

Tri Cycle Farms is a non-profit community garden in the heart of Fayetteville seeking to help solve problems of food insecurity in our community through education, discourse, and cultivation of quality, organic food to benefit local food pantries. Every Saturday, APO brothers interested in the project volunteer their time at the farm, working to end hunger in Northwest Arkansas while learning about sustainable, urban agriculture. For more information on Tri Cycle Farms, visit Facebook.com/TriCycleFarms.

Merit Badge University

Every spring, Beta Rho hosts Merit Badge University on the University of Arkansas campus. Merit Badge U is an opportunity for hundreds of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Adventure Scouts to earn merit badges that might be difficult to complete in their home communities. This 25 year tradition pays tribute to Alpha Phi Omega's deep roots in the world of Scouting. Fayetteville Animal Shelter

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter is a clean and humane space for stray animals who are either in need of a home or in need of reconnection with their owners.   APO helps out primarily by socializing cats every Friday at 3pm, however opportunities are available to walk dogs as well.  Orientation is needed to be a volunteer, which takes place every first and third thursday of the month.  For more information, visit the Fayetteville Animal Shelter Website
